The Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association (SC&RA) recognized a number of individuals and companies with Transportation Safety Awards during the Association’s 2018 Annual Conference, April 17 to 21, at the Boca Raton Resort and Club in Boca Raton, Fla.
Eight SC&RA member companies received a Transportation Zero Accidents Award for having no recordable accidents:
•Bulldog Hiway Express, North Charleston, S.C.
•BOSS Crane & Rigging – Longview, Texas
•George Young Mammoet – Swedesboro, N.J.
•Global Specialized Services, LLC – Casper, Wy.
•KMX International – Hamburg, Penn.
•Precision Heavy Haul, Inc. – Tolleson, Ariz.
•Perkins STC – Northfield, Minn.
•White Brothers Trucking Company – Wasco, Ill.
Six SC&RA member companies received a Transportation Fleet Safety Mileage Category Award for having the lowest accident frequency rate in different mileage categories in 2017:
•100,000 miles to 500,000 miles – Precision Heavy Haul, Inc. – Tolleson, Ariz.
•500,000 miles to 1.5 Million miles – Global Specialized Services – Casper, Wy.
•1.5 Million miles to 5 Million miles – Bulldog Hiway Express, North Charleston, S.C.
•5 Million miles to 20 Million miles – Maxim Crane Works, LP – Wilder, Ky.
•50 Million miles to 100 Million miles – Bennett Motor Express – McDonough, Ga.
•Over 100 Million miles – Landstar Transportation Logistics, Inc. – Jacksonville, Fla.
Three SC&RA member companies earned a Fleet Safety Improvement Award by showing a reduction in their accident frequency rate for miles traveled, compared to their previous year accident frequency rate:
•Barnhart – Memphis, Tenn.
•Bennett Motor Express – McDonough, Ga.
•Landstar Transportation Logistics, Inc. – Jacksonville, Fla.
Seven SC&RA member companies received a Fleet Safety Award for obtaining an accident frequency rate of less than 0.45 during all of 2017:
•BOSS Crane & Rigging – Longview, Texas
•George Young Mammoet – Swedesboro, N.J.
•KMX International – Hamburg, Penn.
•LeFebve & Sons, Inc. – Elk River, Minn.
•Perkins STC – Northfield, Minn.
•Trans-United Inc. – Burns Harbor, Ind.
•White Brothers Trucking Company – Wasco, Ill.
Two professional drivers from one SC&RA member company were recognized with the Million Miler Safety Award. The Million Miler Safety Award recipients each accumulated a minimum of one million consecutive miles of safe driving within the industry:
•LeFebve & Sons, Inc. – Elk River, Minn. – Michael Belanger and Chad Claassen
The following Driver Safety Awards recipients each accumulated five years of accident-free driving:
•Barnhart – Memphis, Tenn. – John Barrett
