SC&RA presents 2018 Crane & Rigging Safety Awards

The Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association (SC&RA) recognized individuals and companies with Crane & Rigging Safety Awards during the Association’s 2018 Annual Conference, April 17 to 21, at the Boca Raton Resort and Club in Boca Raton, Fla. The contests are part of SC&RA’s ongoing efforts to recognize member companies that exemplify a commitment to workplace safety.

Crane & Rigging Zero Accidents Awards were given to 12 member companies that did not record a single accident or injury in the past year:

•Custom Service Crane, Inc. – Fisher, Ill.
•Dobson Industrial, Inc. – Bay City, Mich.
•Dutcher-Phipps Crane & Rigging Company – Monahans, Texas
•Edwards Moving & Rigging, Inc. – Shelbyville, Ky.
•Fagioli, INC. – Manvel, Texas
•Gatwood Crane Service, Inc. – Arlington Heights, Ill.
•Imperial Crane Services, Inc. – Bridgeview, Ill.
•JK Crane – Kenvil, N.J.
•Peninsula Crane & Rigging/Art Alger, Inc. – San Jose, Calif.
•Stevenson Crane Service, Inc. – Bolingbrook, Ill.
•Wilkerson Crane Rental, Inc. – Kansas City, Ks.

Twenty-one SC&RA member companies won a Crane & Rigging Safety Award due to their superior safety records of achieving an incident rate of less than or equal to 2.1 plus an Experience Modification Rate (EMR) of 1.0 or less. Together, these companies totaled 16,176,171 man hours with an average Experience Modification Rate of 0.76 and an average Incident Rate of 0.72:

Four SC&RA member companies earned a Crane & Rigging Safety Improvement Award by reducing their incidence rate over the previous year’s contest entry:

•Deep South Crane and Rigging, LLC – Baton Rouge, La.
•Fagioli, INC. – Manvel, Texas
•Superior Rigging & Erecting Company, Inc. – Atlanta, Ga.

Thirty individuals were presented with a Crane Operator Safety Award. This award is presented to certified crane operators who exhibit exemplary work achievements while accumulating 10,000 consecutive man-hours and recording zero accidents and incidents. Together, these 30 individuals accumulated 751,957 incident free man hours over the course of their careers. Winners represent nine separate companies:
