Cranes used for vertical strengthening operation on the Port of Quebec
December 22, 2023 By CHC Staff
QUEBEC CITY – Cranes were used to lift a total of 48 vertical anchors used to reinforce two areas along the Port of Quebec.
Each anchor ranged from 25 to 30 feet long, with a diameter of 1.25 inches. Anchors were made of 30M 2205 stainless steel and fitted with a four-inch sock. Each anchor was lifted into drilled core holes along two sections on each side of the port, with their placement finalized with applied grout.
Work was carried out by Cintec Reinforcement Systems, who were contacted about the project in 2019 by the Marine and Coastal division of WSP Inc.
