Columbus McKinnon Corp. updates its motion control VFD

GETZVILLE, NY – Columbus McKinnon Corp. (CMCO), manufacturers of intelligent motion technologies for material handling applications, has released the next generation its digital motion control solutions, the Magnetek Impulse G+/VG+ Series 5 variable frequency drive (VFD).

Standard features of CMCO’s Series 5 VFDs include sway control, collision avoidance technology, customizable software options and a redesigned user interface and USB connectivity to allow operators to configure and adjust parameters on personal computer devices.

“By including sway control and other new features as standard, we’re ensuring that users have access to the safest, most efficient variable frequency drives that meet rising customer expectations for solutions with built-in intelligence,” said Michael Carpenter, CMCO’s global product manager for automation and controls.

User experience additions to these updated models include date and time stamps for specific operations, restructured parameter menu navigation and a high-resolution keypad.
