Canada launches selection process for Member of the International Authority for Gordie Howe International Bridge project
The Government of Canada is making important infrastructure investments that are helping create good middle-class jobs, promote trade and productivity, and grow the economy. The Gordie Howe International Bridge will support economic growth by improving connections between Canada and the U.S. and enabling the continuous flow of people and goods through a safe, secure and efficient Windsor-Detroit trade corridor.
Minister of Infrastructure and Communities François-Philippe Champagne recently announced that the Government of Canada has launched an open, transparent and merit-based selection process to seek applications from diverse and qualified Canadians from across the country to fill the position of Member of the International Authority for the Gordie Howe International Bridge project.
The International Authority is a joint Canada-Michigan governance entity responsible for overseeing compliance with the Crossing Agreement signed by Canada and Michigan for the bridge project.
The Government is looking for applicants who have a significant leadership background at the senior executive level, experience with Canada-U.S. bi-national initiatives, and a proven ability to foster strong relationships.
Applications for this opportunity can be submitted through the Government of Canada's Governor in Council Appointments website.
"The Government of Canada is looking for a talented and experienced individual to serve as a Member of the International Authority. This person will play a vital role in ensuring the Gordie Howe International Bridge project continues to move forward to its successful completion by overseeing project compliance and fostering strong relationships with stakeholders and partners,” said Champagne.
