Kelowna tower crane collapse anniversary July 12
June 27, 2022 By Rob Munro / InfoNews
The first anniversary to mark the victims of the tower crane collapse in downtown Kelowna, B.C. is coming up.
To commemorate the tragic event on July 12, the North Okanagan Labour Council is organizing a memorial service at 10 a.m. that day at the corner of Bertram Street and Bernard Avenue.
On that day a year ago, the crane collapsed as it was being dismantled, killing four construction workers on the site (Cailen Vilness, Erick and Patrick Stemmer and Jared Zook) while Brad Zawislak was killed inside a neighbouring building where he was working.
