Compact crawler keeps its grip

November 3, 2016  By Jeffrey Carter

The RK 36/2400 compact crawler crane from Böcker Maschinenwerke doesn’t lose its grip, “even on soft ground,” says a news release from the Germany-based manufacturer.

“Designed for extension lengths of up to 36 metres, it safely lifts loads up to a maximum of 2,400 kilograms,” the release said.

“Even with a load of 250 kilograms, a range of 23 metres can still be achieved. Amongst other things, this is made possible by its fully hydraulic telescoping hybrid mast section.”

The compact chassis of the RK 36/2400 can travel up to 2.4 kilometres and hour in “creeping mode,” and up to 4.5 km-h in “rapid mode,” the release said.

The crane has a powerful diesel engine but can also be equipped with a similarly powerful electric motor to enable operation in production halls or industrial systems.

The machine can also function as “a working platform with a permanently mounted and rotating working cage,” the release said.

Böcker Maschinenwerke is headquartered in Werne, Germany.
