Stemmer withdraws application demanding return of laptops from RCMP
November 8, 2022 By Don Horne
Stemmer Construction – the company that protested having the RCMP keep data seized in the aftermath of a fatal crane collapse killing five people in 2021 – has had a change of heart asking for three laptops to be returned.
On Monday, the lawyer representing the company told the court they are no longer choosing to oppose the application.
It was back in August that the Mounties were successful in an application to keep all the evidence in their investigation seized, including the data on three laptops, so the investigation could continue.
