March 20, 2017 By Keith Norbury
Each construction crane visible on the Greater Toronto skyline “represents up to 500 jobs,” a building industry and land development advocate wrote recently in the Toronto Star.
Brian Tuckey, president and CEO of the Building Industry and Land Development Association, also noted that more 196,000 people worked in the building and renovation industries in the GTA in the preceding year. Collectively, they earned $11.4 billion in wages, he added.
His association represents more than 1,450 companies in the GTA.
