Worker hit by concrete lowered to safety by crane

A construction worker had to be lowered by a crane from the ninth floor of a building under construction on Rideau Street in Ottawa on Friday, after he was struck by a large piece of concrete being moved into position.

Ottawa paramedics said the the worker, a man in his 30s, suffered multiple injuries.

He was taken to the trauma unit in serious, but stable condition.
