SC&RA names 2021 Driver of the Year

June 29, 2021  By the Specialized Carriers and Rigging Association (SC&RA)

The Specialized Carriers and Rigging Association (SC&RA) has named Robert Foulker of Dawes Rigging and Crane Rental, Milwaukee, Wis., as its 2021 Driver of the Year.

The award – which recognizes drivers with a long record of safe and courteous driving, demonstrated leadership amongst peers and outstanding contributions to highway safety – was announced yesterday at the SC&RA Specialized Transportation Symposium in Birmingham, Ala.

Foulker began his career with Dawes a little over 20 years ago, and it became clear to him early on that this would become a career and not just a job.

Within his time at Dawes, Foulker has taken on numerous roles, including moving several smaller pieces of equipment locally every day, moving larger rough-terrain cranes around the state, taking crane components to the other side of the country as well as assisting in crane assembly and disassembly.

Foulker has also committed to the safety culture at Dawes from the beginning – remaining dedicated to safety while holding others around him to the same standard without fail.

Having retired in early April (2021), Dawes leadership has expressed that it can’t think of a better way to complement Foulker’s tenure with the company as well as his contributions to the industry than through the SC&RA Driver of the Year Award.
