Since its creation in 1997, the National Heavy Equipment Show (NHES) has embodied its mantra of connecting “serious equipment” with “serious buyers.”

This year, from March 31 to April 1, the National Heavy Equipment Show returns to the International Centre in Mississauga, Ont. to unite Canada’s heavy equipment industries once again.

NHES, hosted by Master Promotions Ltd., is a must-attend event featuring equipment for the roadbuilding, construction, snow removal, aggregate and infrastructure sectors.

“My exhibitors tell me every day that face-to-face is where it’s at. And they can’t wait to get back at it,” said Mark Cusack, national show manager. “It’s exciting to get back in. There’s nothing better than seeing your customer. There’s nothing better than the face-to-face. They can see the machinery, talk to the techs and get everything they need right there.”

The 2022 show also marks 25 years since the inaugural NHES was held at the International Centre. The show is now the largest heavy equipment trade show in Canada, welcoming as many as 12,000 visitors.

“It was one of our early ones, and it’s been going really well ever since. We have exhibitors that have been with us for all 25 years,” Cusack said.

Alongside exhibits, NHES will offer a range of exciting features to elevate the experience, including:

 The Gravel Pit

See part of the show floor transformed into The Gravel Pit, which will feature equipment like crushers, screeners, conveyors, scales, recyclers, front end loaders and hammers.

Recruiting Here

This feature is for exhibitors who are looking to grow their ranks and hire new employees by recruiting at the show. Job-seeking visitors will be asked to bring their resume to connect with prospective new employers.

While COVID-19 delayed the return of many trade shows, including NHES, the heavy equipment industry is eager to get back on the show floor.

“Since restrictions were lifted in Ontario, we’ve really seen a bump in pre-registration,” Cusack said.

Alongside a boost in preregistration, NHES is also registering new exhibitors for the show.

“There’s a lot of new exhibitors. And a lot of new exhibitors in the Gravel Pit and in the Rental Pavilion, which grows every year,” Cusack said.

NHES is also including the new Digital Marketplace at this year’s show. The campaign will follow the in-person event and provide information on exhibitors and products via social media and direct email.

“We’ll include all the exhibitors … just to keep the momentum going,” Cusack said.
