Nelson Manufacturing Company is now offering a new lighter, yet stronger, boom dolly frame on its spread axle dollies. The complete frame has been optimized to reduce weight while not compromising on Nelson’s strict design load criteria.

100 KSI and even 130 KSI steels in high-stress areas provide a robust frame design.

Newly released “Smart-Steer” self-steer axles on the front and rear reduce the stress in the boom tower and the crane boom when cornering. The tower design includes a rocker that allows for side-to-side pivot which is important when making sharp turns. This feature reduces the stress going through the frame while ensuring the dolly tires remain firmly on the road where they belong.

Lightweight suspensions, aluminum hubs, aluminum rear channels and other lightweight components are utilized throughout. Aluminum air tanks are available as an option.  These dollies are available with either 22.5 or 17.5 tires and wheels.
