Nelson Manufacturing is now offering several upgrades to its boom launch trailer.

The controls for the hydraulic levelling legs are now available on the wireless remote as an option. Previously only available as a manual control, the new wireless control offers time savings to the operator, increased convenience, and safer operation due to improved visibility. When combined with the “Boots on the Ground” option, all hydraulic controls are conveniently located on a single remote-control unit.

While Nelson continues to provide manual override valves for all hydraulic controls, the new remote has also been improved to increase reliability and longevity. The control transmitter and receiver are both completely “potted” to prevent moisture intrusion and corrosion over time. A padded waterproof storage compartment for the remote is also now conveniently located near the hydraulic power unit on the trailer. These changes effectively mitigate the primary cause for remote control failure when working outdoors.

Upgrades

Another added feature is that these remotes now include a cable that can be plugged in to convert the wireless remote to a plug-in pendant. This can be very useful using the trailer on EMP restricted job sites.

The Nelson boom launch trailer is available for essentially all crane booms on the market today. Nelson continues to work with various crane manufacturers to ensure that it is handling booms in a safe and efficient manner. These trailers are available in various capacities and axle configurations including a tri-axle trailer, multi-axle West Coast style trailer, our 8-line NEXTGEN boom launch trailer and anything in between.
