Man climbs up crane in Kitchener, talked down by emergency response team

Kitchener, Ont. – Waterloo regional police said a man climbed a tower crane Sunday, Oct. 18.
Police say the man stayed on the crane for almost seven hours before members of Waterloo Regional Police’s Emergency Response Team and neighbourhood patrol, with help from a mental health expert, negotiated with him to come down.
The man came down around 5:30 p.m. and was taken to a local hospital for appropriate care.
