Man climbs up crane in Kitchener, talked down by emergency response team

Kitchener, Ont. – Waterloo regional police said a man climbed a tower crane Sunday, Oct. 18.

Police say the man stayed on the crane for almost seven hours before members of Waterloo Regional Police’s¬†Emergency Response Team and neighbourhood patrol, with help from a mental health expert, negotiated with him to come down.

The man came down around 5:30 p.m. and was taken to a local hospital for appropriate care.
