Konecranes awarded for sustainability efforts by EcoVadis

September 22, 2021  By Crane & Hoist Canada Staff

Konecranes has been recognized for its work in sustainability with a gold award from EcoVadis, a global assessor of sustainability performance.

The lifting company’s actions, policies and reporting put it in the top four per cent of all rated companies globally, and in the top one per cent of its general-purpose machinery peers.

Konecranes’ rating improved from 2020 after the company implemented additional policies, certifications, and increased transparency, says EcoVadis.

Since the 2020 survey, Konecranes has committed to set science-based climate targets and publish them by the end of 2021, and its digital services received information security certification (ISO 27001).

The company also started third-party supplier sustainability audits and reported on its human rights risks and ways to mitigate them.

Konecranes operates under five sustainability cornerstones: climate action and resource efficiency; eco-optimized offering and circularity; a safe workplace and products; a diverse, inclusive and engaging workplace; and responsible business conduct.
