Four workers injured after floor collapses in high rise construction

January 6, 2023  By CBC News

Four workers were injured after a partial floor collapse at a 26-storey high-rise construction site across from the Covent Garden Market in downtown London, Ont.

The building is a 266-unit luxury apartment building by York Developments at 131 King St. The injuries happened when a floor collapsed during a concrete pour, officials with the company said. Crews were pouring concrete when a part of the floor collapsed, said Dennis Schiffers, a district chief with the London Fire Department.

Three people were treated for minor injuries while a fourth person was being assessed for more serious injuries.
