The Ontario government has named a new chair for Infrastructure Ontario.

David Lindsay is taking over the helm, and bringing a lot of public-sector experience with him. During his time working in the Ontario Public Service, he held the position of Deputy Minister at the Ministries of Energy and Infrastructure, Northern Development, Mines and Forestry, Natural Resources, and Tourism and Culture.

He also served as the Principal Secretary and Chief of Staff to the Premier of Ontario from 1995 to 1997. Following this role, he was president and CEO of the Ontario Jobs and Investment Board from 1997 to 1999, and President and CEO of the Ontario SuperBuild Corporation.

“On behalf of the Government of Ontario, I would like to thank (him) for agreeing to serve as Chair of the Board of the Ontario Infrastructure and Lands Corporation (Infrastructure Ontario), or IO,” wrote Laurie Scott, Minister of Infrastructure, in a statement.

Lindsay is the former president and CEO of the Council of Ontario Universities, the Forest Products Association of Canada and of Colleges Ontario.

“I am confident that Mr. Lindsay will be integral to ensuring that IO continues to play a key role in the delivery of government infrastructure and infrastructure-related priorities,” wrote Scott.
