Anne Heche’s family asked that fans pray for the Emmy Award-winning actress as she recovers from serious burns and injuries after she smashed her Mini into a house at 90mph and caused a huge fire, allegedly while drink-driving.

A representative of the family told People Magazine that Heche, 53, was in ‘stable conditions’ following the crash, where she crashed her Mini Clubman on a block of garages in Los Angeles around 11am Friday, before speeding off at up to 90mph and then plowing 30 feet into a house.

The actress, who once dated Ellen DeGeneres, was spotted on doorbell footage speeding down a residential street before she took out a hedge, slammed through a building, causing her car to explode on impact.

She is understood to have battled scorching heat in the burning vehicle for up to 30 minutes before 59 firefighters arrived to drag her to safety.

A crane was used to move the vehicle so that Heche could be extricated.
