Boom lift hits overpass, sends woman to hospital
June 28, 2022 By Nicole O'Reilly / Hamilton Spectator
A truck caused extensive damage to the Lincoln Alexander Parkway in Hamilton, Ont. when its crane hit the Upper Sherman Avenue overpass and then a car Monday morning.
The truck carrying a boom lift was eastbound on the parkway around 10 a.m. when its crane — which was mistakenly raised — hit the overpass, causing the crane to rip off and hit a car, said Const. Krista-Lee Ernst of the Hamilton police.
The driver of the car, a woman in her late 60s, suffered minor injuries. The driver of the truck, who was not hurt, remained at the scene.
